BVLOS – Complex operations level 1

Objectives

Learn how to plan and execute low-risk, COAS-free BVLOS flights in compliance with Canadian regulations.

This training course will help you understand the operational requirements, regulatory limits and best practices for performing out-of-sight missions safely. You’ll gain the knowledge you need to prepare for the Transport Canada exam and operate in a professional and responsible manner.

If you meet 1 of the following conditions, you can take the course BVLOS – Complex operations level 1

Flying a small or medium-sized remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) over unpopulated areas located more than 1 km from residential areas.
Fly a small unmanned aircraft (ATP) over sparsely populated areas.
Fly in uncontrolled airspace, at a maximum altitude of 400 feet above ground level, and at a minimum distance of 5 nautical miles from aerodromes listed in the Canadian Flight Supplement or Water Aerodrome Supplement.
